Waitrose

Occasionally there’s chance to work on some speculative and thought-led work. I was tasked to work in a small team to ideate the vision of future opportunities of grocery shopping.

The Problem

Waitrose are a very typical supermarket in that they have many goods, a lot of wastage, a lot of staff turnover and because of all of this – a lot of associated costs. During my time at Somo they asked us how could innovation potentially be at the centre of their operations and help them to ultimately become highly efficient, user-friendly and a market leader in the grocery market.

The Solution

Working as a team of two, we came up with some incredible concepts that allowed Waitrose to look into the opportunity of (and not limited to) robotics, drones, the automated and connected home, the connected car, and much more.
The presentation went down highly well.
